Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, I began studying Japanese at the age of thirteen. After graduating from high school, I spent a year at a Japanese high school, then did a double major in Economics and Japanese at the University of Western Australia. I moved to Japan after graduating and have resided here since. Living here for more than 30 years has afforded me valuable cultural insights into the country, the language, and the people, which I bring to my translations. I have worked as a freelance Japanese to English translator for more than 20 years. I have an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Monash University and an M.A. in Advanced Japanese from Sheffield University. I am an avid anime and manga fan and enjoy cooking, music and traveling.
